Writer / Journalist wanted in our Barnsley office

We are looking for a writer / journalist to join our respected news section here at Quick Loans office in Barnsley as soon as possible.

The position can be full or part-time depending on the right person’s circumstances. Now the position is open to everyone but historically it has been our experience that a lot of the people whom would naturally fill this position have been women. Due to this, we can shape the hours required to fit in mothers who have children and require hours that would allow for them to be dropped off and collected from school. Same options available for fathers who need that flexibility.

We require someone that can think for themselves and has an above average understanding of consumer finances and financial products (credit cards, overdrafts, insurance etc). For an example of some of the types of articles we write, we would encourage those interested to head over to our Quick Loans site and look at our news section.

We think this would position would suit someone who has an interest in journalism, someone who likes to investigate subjects and has an open mind.

If you think that this is something you can do, we would like to hear from you. We can promise a relaxed non-snowflake PC type atmosphere in which to work. For the right person, we will do our best to accommodate their individual circumstances.

Hours – up to 35 per week – although can be as low as 16 for the right candidate. But 16 is really as low as we can go.

Holidays – 4 weeks paid per year (pro rata)

Hourly rate £9.00 per hour

Benefits – Free Parking, though that may change later so please don’t count on it. Great place to work, a company that is growing and expanding. We won’t beat you physically if you make a mistake. Can’t say fairer than that.

Start Dates - immediate if the right candidate is able.

Please supply a covering letter, maybe an example of some work you have done previously would be good. Qualifications from the snowflake factory (schools and stuff) don’t really mean anything to us. Honestly not got a clue what meaningless medals they are giving out for what these days so don’t worry about it. You can stare at your certificates in your own time.

If you can do the job competently and add to the good atmosphere in here. That is all we are concerned with.
